#1 Finishing up a newly applied racing bottom. Also a good view of a keel fairing that has been faired into the bottom of the boat. The fairing and keel have also been sprayed with the bottom treatment.

#2 Another view of the fairing. It has now become part of the boat.

#3 A look at the aluminum strips that must be on the boat bottom to be class legal. In the area in front of the keel, the fairing replaces the aluminum strips.

#4 The rear catch assembly on the gasket has been faired into the boat bottom. At the front of the gasket, you can see the hinge that holds the gasket to the back of the keel head. Also note the gap on either side of the gasket. The gaps allow the cockpit to drain itself thru the keel slot. To the left of the keel, you can see the trailing edge of the keel fairing and also the gap between the keel that allows the front of the keel slot to drain.

#5 Side view of the fairing. Note how the fairing has wrapped around the side of the keel, just like a fairing on a motorcycle.

#6 Another gasket and fairing installation. Note that the rear catch assembly has not been faired into the bottom. Also shown is the class required metal strips and the gap around the gasket for draining the cockpit. This boat and gasket have also been sprayed with a bottom treatment.
