I live in SE Michigan and am interesting in buying a San Juan 21. If anyone would like to unload one now, I'll help dig it out! I have family in Indy and may be willing to drive that far for the right boat. (MkI in Tinley Park, IL and MkII in Davison, MI are long gone.)

Also, a question since I may have to drive a ways before I see my first example in person. I'm interested in daysailing/weekending with my family (two adults, two boys ages 7 and 11). What is the height of the quarter berths under the cockpit? I have pored over pictures but it's hard to judge this. I'm wondering if an adult can sleep or turn over in them, or if they are strictly for kids or storage. Is an MkI any worse in this respect (I think the big cockpit must be nice).
