Both boats were sailing an Olympic triangle. The Mark in question was the wing mark but due to a wind change the course to this mark was down wind not a reach. The next mark was also down wind between the beam and back quarter (toss up if wing on wing or reach was more effective). The jib had to be carried pretty far forward if going wing on wing. We chose to reach and the jib didn't fill as nicely as we would have liked but we seem to be gaining slightly. This also needs to be considered when deciding what should have been done at the mark as the boats were not turning back up wind.
