subject:Lee Helm
I read a lot of posts about problems with lee helm.Prior to Sept. 1986 the class spec for the "angle that the keel (lowered against it's stop) makes with the hull bottom should be approximately 52 degrees."
At that time, to help overcome lee helm problems with the class the spec was changed to 64 degrees.
12 degrees drop of the keel will generate a lot more weather helm without having to sail with the boom in your lap.
By the way, Josh, if you lived in South Carolina you don't even have to put a license plate on or register your SJ 21 trailer. No taxes or fees.
