subject:Sail Slides
I have sail slides on Charmed Juan. I have an article on single handing our boats on our website that explains the placement
http://www.sj21fleet1.org/?Rigging_Ideas%26nbsp%3B:Single-handed_setupOne trick to sail slides is to set it up so the bolt rope is as close to the mast as possible to minimize air bleed. Also. If you use grommets and place them far enough away from the bolt rope, you can still use the bolt rope for racing and the slides for cruising.
One other thing about sail slides is that it moves the mainsail aft about 1 1/4" Can this help with lee helm? Could this mean the mast would not have to be raked aft as much?
