SJ21 Stability

Looking for thoughts regarding the stability of SJ21. I will be sailing with 9 and 11 yr old children. How would this compare to Oday Mariner which I have sailed in past. Really grateful for input. Michael

The San Juan 21 should be considered as stable, and probably more so, than the 19' O'Day Mariner (daysailer). Of course in extreme winds, most boats need to be sailed cautiously. Also, considering children (and adults), to be safest, life vests should be worn on the water. Especially by those who cannot swim. And, of course, safety on a sailboat is also correlated with the skill level of the person captaining the boat. - Jim
