subject:KICK UP RUDDER
The factory kick up rudder has a hole ti the blade about 3" below the bottom of the rudder head and about 2" from the leading edge. There should also be holes in the rudder head just above the upper pintal for securing the bungee cord. With the rudder in the kick up position, put the end of a 1/2" bungee cord through the hole in the rudder headfrom the outside in. Pull enough cord thuogh to pu a 1/2" washer over the cord and keep it in place with three 3/4" hog rings.pull the cord tight against the washer an run the cord through the hole in the blade. Pull the cord as tight as you can and hold it with a pair of vise grips. Run the cordback to the rudder head and put it through the head and pull it out where you can put another washer on it. Pull the cord as tight as yo can and hold the washer in place with three hog rings. I use one on each side and one on top. Mount your rudder, kick it down and go sailing.
