Discover Sailing Video aboard "Lil Juan" at LNYC

Sj sailors,

Last weekend the Lake Norman Yacht Club (NC) hosted a "Discover Sailing" day with "Choa" (Charlotte Outdoor Activities) members. What a day! Sun, warm and a really nice breeze. Two Sj 21's and a Sj 7.7 were among the many boats that gave "choa" members an opportunity to explore sailing via seminars and "hands on" sailing. Not only did they go for a ride, they did all the jobs on the boat.

After the sailing was over one excited (in a good way) young lady described how she was at the helm of a J-80 under full spinnaker (remember she is a rookie) when a gust rounded them up!

Capt "mike" and "gary" provided music after the sail but a strong thunderstorm put an end to a great day.

The video is 4 1/2 minutes long, take a look.

Ps. Don't forget you must be a nationals member to race in a nationals regatta.
