subject:leak around keel cable sailing to Catalina Island
My son and I just sailed "Knot a Clew" (our San Juan 21) to Catalina Island. She had a full load with provisions to stay a week exploring the island. Our water level was up to the keel cable and water was leaking in. Maybe a half a cup an hour.
I also had this once when I had most of my family on the boat..there are 7 of us. :)
Even with the load the little lady still had an average speed of over 5 mph the entire trip to and from the island. According to the gps, we even went 7.9 mph a few times. Sorry, haven't figurd out if the garman will talk in knots.
Ever heard of a fix for this .... besides traveling lighter? :)
