subject:Sailing in the NOOD! Foulies Optional
It's time to mark your calendar for what has become one of the top regattas on the west coast for San Juan 21 sailors. May 12, 13 & 14. Last year (15) SJ21 skippers had the pleasure of sailing in the NOOD along with 200 other boats. This year we need to go over the 20 mark. Those of us that have participated the last 2 years are all planning on attending. The rest of you need to experience this great event to understand why we wouldn't miss it for anything. This year there will again be 2 divisions within our class. A Spinnaker group (main, jib, spinnaker) and a Working Sails group (main, jib). We will have a single start and they will score us separately as long as we have at least 6 boats in each division. If not we will all sail in the spinnaker division. This year we will be resurrecting the "Northwest District Championship" and will have additional hardware to hand out at the awards. (a shameless attempt to get more podium time for our class)Here is the link for regatta information and registration. http://www.sailingworld.com/nood_regatta.jsp?location=2637
Last year Fleet 1 offered up housing for anyone that needed it and that offer still stands. Take a look at the information on the site and let me know if you have questions about anything. Trust me, this is one of the best regattas you'll ever sail in.... why just read about it in Sailing World, when you can actually sail in it! Plus, it will be a great tune-up for this year's North Americans at Canyon Ferry, Montana in June.
